In honor of National Coffee Day I am sharing my favorite way to drink coffee… with Vodka! I love this cocktail so much. It’s a great drink for entertaining, as it’s perfect for boozy brunches, pre-dinner cocktails or after-dinner dessert drinks. They are easy to make and absolutely delicious. I’ve included two versions – one has more of a punch and less calories, the other is creamy, decadent and delicious!

 

THE TRADITIONAL ESPRESSO MARTINI

INGREDIENTS

1 oz vodka

2 oz Kahlua

1 oz freshly brewed espresso, cooled

Ice

Espresso beans for garnish

OR

THE AFTER DINNER ESPRESSO MARTINI

INGREDIENTS

1 oz Vodka

1 ¼ oz Kahlua

1 oz Espresso

¾ oz Bailey’s

Ice

Espresso beans for garnish

PREPARATION

1. Fill a shaker with ice.

2. Add the vodka, Kahlua and espresso (and Bailey’s for the second one!)

3. Shake very vigorously as that’s how you get the creamy foamy top!

4. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with espresso beans
